Gino and Lisa…Unfortunately it is generally people that touch you the most that you neglect to properly thank … for that we apologize. Not only have you sacrificed one of your most precious gifts from God, your son Nick … but you continue to GIVE by keeping his and so many others legacy alive in your flag tribute. The simple words “thank you” seems inadequate, but “thank you” for all you do to insure that our sons and daughters are NEVER forgotten! May God continue to uphold and strengthen you in your efforts this coming year and always!!!! God bless you both!

Great web site. Aunt Cookie told me about it today. Nick is always remembered at our school's Veterans Day assembly each November. Bless you both; you and especially Van and her family are in my prayers!

The display at Hi-Point Career Center in Bellefontaine was nice! I am from Little Rock, AR. My best friend and I visited Sunday 7/27. I'll throw a link back to you when I complete my blog entries on the 'Net as your mission is appreciated.

TODAY IN OAK HILL OHIO AT THE PARK I NOTICED ALL OF THE AMERICAN FLAGS FLYING. IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL SITE TO SEE. I WASN'T FOR SURE WHY THEY WERE THERE SO I WENT TO SEE. ME AND MY WIFE WAS GREETED BY A GENTLEMAN (Gino Zimmer) WHO WAS SETTING UP THE DISPLAY. HE GAVE US A PAPER TELLING THE PURPOSE OF THE FLAGS AND THE HISTORY BEHIND IT. HE TOLD US THAT HIS SON WAS ONE OF THE BRAVE MEN WHO FOUGHT FOR OUR COUNTRY AND DIED SO WE CAN HAVE THE FREEDOM THAT WE HAVE HERE IN AMERICA. I WAS PROUD TO MEET HIM AND WAS GRATEFUL FOR HIS WILLINGNESS TO TAKE THE TIME TO SHOW EVERYBODY HOW MANY HEROES DIE EVERYDAY TO ENSURE WE HAVE THE FREEDOM WE HAVE. JUST WANTED TO SAY KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. WE ARE ALL PROUD OF YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK. THANKS FOR COMING TO OUT VILLAGE OF OAK HILL. I HOPE EVERYONE APPRECIATES WHAT YOU DO.

While I was attending the Festival of Flags in the small town of Oak Hill, OH to sing with my high school girls, I was privileged to visit the wonderful honor memorial at the park (which use to house my elementary school before it was replaced by the park). I was so impressed with your dedication to these wonderful young men and women that are serving and have served. My grandson, Mark, has been to Iraq twice and Afghanistan once, and has returned to Camp LeJeune for now. I feel incredibly lucky that he was spared - but my heart goes out to those (who have suffered) the loss of their loved ones. ...It was nice to talk with you, Mr. Zimmer, that Sunday morning and please know my family all appreciate you and yours for all the time you are giving on behalf of these young men and women. God Bless!

Thank you for bring the memorial to the Rally at the Peak. Seeing the flags representing our fallen heros gives a whole different perspective on the losses our country and so many families have suffered. Reading the names on a list does not have the same effect on you as the names printed on so many flag poles with the wind fluttering the flags in so many rows. Thank you Gino for your efforts and accept or deep sympathy for the reason that you started this memorial.

I just wanted to say thank you today. My husband and I went to the park on Saturday for the ceremony and back today to help break down the display. We just felt proud being able to be a part of the tribute.
